Protein smoothie bowls are up there with the best healthy snacks that you can have. I must admit that I was never big on protein powders and shakes but wherever I looked on my kitchen counter top and in my pantry there were (and still are) all size containers of protein powders because I have a very committed gym enthusiast in the family and as you know, it’s very easy to get sucked into the habits of those around us and because these are good and positive habits I am a huge supporter. Before I became a supporter however, I questioned everything – until the day I tasted a few of these smoothie bowls – the rest is history.
Protein Smoothie Bowls
Great as a breakfast option, snack or dessert, either way this ‘thick and creamy treat’ kills every single craving and you would be convinced it’s ice-cream but it isn’t and that is the best part!
PROTEIN SMOOTHIE BOWL THAT TASTES LIKE ICE CREAM
Protein based healthy smoothie!
- 2 Scoops Vanilla Whey Protein
- 150 ml Coconut Water
- Slices of Mango
- 5 Strawberries
- Handful of Berries
- Mixed Seed Mix
- Cocoa Nibs
- 5 Dates
- Step 1 Fill your nutribullet (or any blender) with 4 large ice cubes, coconut water (as a base to liquidize) and 1-2 scoops of the protein powder. Blend all the ingredients together till creamy, pour into your favorite jar and top off with the fruit, cocoa nibs dates and nuts.
Energy lifting and mood enhancing all in a delicious bowl with the advantage of nutritional fresh fruit, dates, nuts & seeds.
If you use more whey protein use more banana depending on how large and how thick you want the serving portion. If you want the consistently to be thicker then just top up on the ingredients.
This is one of my favorite juices but these are just as healthy and just as delicious!
A shot of espresso for the coffee lovers is an option.
For a vegan option use a whey protein vegan friendly brand.
This should be treated as a “treat” especially if you are trying to lose some weight. There is a misconception that when something is good for you, you can have more than you need but its not true. It is good for your body but it is also still full of good carbs and fats which makes it a healthier choice. It’s all about self control and portion control and thankfully one of these servings is filling and completely satisfying until your next meal so enjoy! It’s delicious!
