Chocolate Banana Pancakes

This chocolate and banana pancakes recipe is an easy and healthy batter which always make them even more inviting to make.

For those who love pancakes when the weekend comes round this is just the type of treat that confirms “all is alright for now” as you soak in to enjoy the weekend.

My pancakes are never perfectly circled and all the same size I think I may have to invest in a machine to get them in perfect circles. Just take a look at these pancakes and you will know exactly what I’m talking about. Oh well, they are still healthy and taste divine!

Toppings For Pancakes?

This recipe and inspiration comes from Emilie Eats Blog and the ingredients are all healthy that’s exactly what I love most about this recipe – so why did I top it off with fresh cream? Because cream is my cheat 🙂

Regardless I also love honey and cinnamon on my pancakes and yes loads of fresh fruit!  From sliced banana, fresh strawberries, raspberries and anything that’s in season.

The thing about pancakes is that even though its the most simple recipe they don’t always come out as good as you want them. Take for example these food porn pancakes, I had no idea they would end up stacked in a falling pile of deliciousness!

Either way the idea is to go with it and enjoy because its around the 3rd pancake that they start to take shape (my first one always burns 🙂

Chocolate Banana Pancakes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 3/4 cup almond milk
  • 2 tbsps coco powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of Salt

Instructions

  • Add all the ingredients in a food processor or blender and blend till well combined. 
    Let the mix stand for 5 to 10 minutes before starting (you can preheat a non stick pan in this time)
    Using a 3/4 cup measurement drop the pancake batter onto the hot pan to cook. 
    Bubbles will appear on the top and in about 2 minutes its cooked. Turn it over and cook the other side. 
    Serve with strawberries, cream, chocolate and fruit.
