Description
An easy sweet brown sugar orange jam glaze for your next bone-in ham recipe that takes 5 minutes to make. Holiday season and holiday feast seem to go hand in hand and this sticky brown sugar glaze is a great addition to your holiday table. Because it stores so well any remaining glaze can be used on any leftover ham.
Ingredients
- 1 cup smooth peach jam
- 1/4 cup muscovado sugar
- 2 zest and juice from 2 large oranges
- 3 orange peels thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 aniseed
- 1/8th teaspoon pinch of chili flakes
Instructions
- Wash the oranges and zest them all. Use a vegetable peeler to slice off a few thin orange slices.
- In a small to medium size saucepan add all the ingredients including the orange zest and orange peels (about 4-5 peels)
- Mix everything together.
- Bring the glaze ingredients to a boil over high heat and then immediately lower to medium heat and cook for 5 minutes. Use to pour over ham or basting on duck.
Notes
Storage
Pour it into a container and keep it the fridge and then once it's cool, place the lid on because it needs to be in an airtight container and then forget about for a week.
Freeze: Freezer container up ot 3 months/
ReUse: Once it has thawed you can re-use it without reheating. If you're making a roasted ham, simply pour it over the top or baste!
