Description
It's a tough choice bewtween a full air fryer pork belly and these little bites of delicious smoky crispy pieces of pork belly because they are equally fantastic! These bites are a great snack, appetizer, addition to a salad, placed as a side dish, either way, they take 30 minutes from start to finish! Serve with braai/barbecue sauce for the ultimate finish.

- 1 kg pork belly
- 1 1/2 tbsps. seasoning
- braai (barbecue sauce optional)
- salt and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer. Your air fryer doesn't have a preheat setting? No problem, simply let it run for a couple minutes while you prep the pork belly. 4 to 5 minutes is good on 200 Celsius/400 Fahrenheit. Give the air fryer a light coating with cooking spray.
- Dry the pork belly all round with kitchen towel or paper. Don't skip the drying, it's important in the crispy bite that we want.
- Season and spice. Add the spice, salt and pepper. How much salt? Taste and adjust to your own preference.
- Oil Add a a teaspoon or two of oil just to help coat the seasoning.
- Add to air fryer basket Toss the seasoned pork belly bites into the air fryer basket and give it a shake making sure they are not on top of each other.
- Air fry for 20 minutes with a couple stops in-between to open the air fryer basket, shake and continue cooking just to make sure that they are all getting evenly cooked.
- When the air fryer bites are crispy to your likening, remove from the air fryer and serve with braai/barbecue sauce.
