Healthy Oatmeal Breakfast Bowl

Warm, creamy and a healthy oat bowl topped off with fruit, coconut flakes and honey. 
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Cooling Down 5 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup oats
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • blueberries
  • raspberries
  • 1/4 medium banana slices
  • chia seeds
  • honey
  • 1/4 cup berries for the smoothie (+ a tablespoon of water/milk)

Instructions
 

  • Add the oats and water into a saucepan/pot and bring to the boil. 
  • Once boiling drop the heat to a very low simmer and add the spices - cinnamon, nutmeg & turmeric. (a pinch of salt if you want) 
  • Keep stirring until it reaches a thick creamy consistency. Remove from the stove and let it cool while you prepare your berry smoothie. 
  • Add the berries into a food processor with a tablespoon of water and a tablespoon of honey. Whiz it all up into a smoothie (a few seconds). 
  • Pour the berry smoothie next to the oats and add the banana slices, chia seeds, raspberries, more berries and a drizzle of honey.  Enjoy!
