Preheat your air fryer if your model needs it.
Wash and dry the sweet potatoes well.
Poke a few holes (2–3 per potato) with a fork so steam can escape.
Rub with olive oil and, if you like, sprinkle a little salt and pepper.
Air fry at 190°C (375°F) for 35–45 minutes, flipping halfway through for even crispness.
Check for doneness: a fork should slide in easily when they’re ready.
Serve warm or cool completely and store for later.
- Cooking time: Small sweet potatoes may be done in 20–25 minutes, while large ones can take up to 45. Adjust as needed.
- Optional oil: A light coating of olive oil helps the skin crisp and adds flavor.
- Don’t overcrowd the basket: Leave some space between potatoes for even air circulation.
- Store in the fridge: Store up to 5 days or freeze up to 2 months. Reheat in the air fryer or microwave.
- Seasoning: You can skip the oil and seasoning entirely — sweet potatoes are naturally flavorful and turn out beautifully tender on their own.
- Meal Prep Tip: Cook a batch ahead of time and store them in the fridge for easy grab-and-go lunches or quick sides during the week.
