Ingredients

Key Ingredients

  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 2 Tablespoons beetroot powder
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder 25g
  • 3-4 Tablespoons unsweetened almond milk added gradually

Add-ins

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract optional
  • 1 Tablespoon nut butter any or peanut butter
  • 1-2 Tablespoons honey or maple syrup add and taste after 1 tbsp

Optional

  • 1 teaspoon collagen powder optional

Toppings

  • 1/2 banana sliced
  • 2 Tablespoons almond flakes
  • cacao nibs
  • organic goji berries

Instructions

  • Into the bowl of a food processor, add all the smoothie ingredients except the milk. Start with 2 tablespoons of milk, then use the pulse button to combine everything together.
  • Stop and scrape the bowl with a spatula or wooden spoon, pushing the ingredients towards the blade, pulse again, stop add another tablespoon of milk then use the #1 or #2 setting to increase speed.
  • You will probably need the last tablespoon of milk, add and process until you get your desired consistency.
  • Pour into a bowl, top with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

Notes

This smoothie can do without the collagen and the vanilla extract so feel free to leave them out. If you don't want to use protein powder, you don't have too because the recipes uses 2 frozen bananas so it's quick thick already BUT the protein powder is not only there for thickness. It adds health benefits, makes it creamy, keeps you staying full for longer and it's super delicious!
