Welcome to My Anosmic Kitchen — a space created for comfort, creativity, and bold flavor. While my personal story is rooted in anosmia (being born without a sense of smell), this blog is about so much more than that. It’s about sharing good, honest food that makes you feel something — even if you experience food differently.

Here, we focus on good old-fashioned, homemade recipes — with strong influences from Western comfort cooking, a few South African favorites, and a deep love for Italian dishes from the Puglia region, which hold special memories for my husband. You’ll often find us making things like fresh orecchiette with broccoli, lentils and sausage, or slow-cooked braciole (involtini) and ingredients like guanciale, pancetta, cheese, rich tomato sauce and so much more!
Home cooking that speaks to your senses.
This blog isn’t about trends or fancy techniques — it’s about real food made with real ingredients. Whether it’s pantry staples or something fresh from the garden, every recipe is built with flavor in mind. You’ll find approachable meals designed to excite the palate — with an extra emphasis on taste, texture, and visual appeal, especially for those living with anosmia or taste loss.
More than anything, this blog is an invitation to experiment, adapt, and enjoy the process. Cooking doesn’t need to be perfect to be deeply satisfying. My hope is that these recipes bring joy to your kitchen, confidence to your cooking, and delicious memories to your table.
