An easy creamy lentil soup recipe using fresh vegetables, simple ingredients and can be made from the leftovers of a divine meal too.
This is a spin off from my Lentil and Dumplings recipe because once cooked I had no idea how many times I would actually use it! So many ways to use one recipe that comprises of affordable pantry staples, what's not to love.
HOW TO MAKE THIS EASY LENTIL SOUP
I'm going to say that you've already read the lentils and dumplings. If not then best you first take a look at that because this recipe is based off of that one. The exact same recipe, all you do is remove the dumplings and set them aside, pour the lentil stew into a blend and blend till pureed. Pour the puree into a saucepan and bring to the boil then add a some coconut cream. A little or a lot of coconut cream will depend on how you want the soup, thick consistency or not.
DO YOU NEED CREAM?
Absolutely not. You don't have to add the cream it simply adds a creaminess to the soup however...this lentil stew is already AMAZING and it has it's own depth to it without the cream. When making the soup I probably added about a ¼ cup of coconut cream for inside the soup as well to drizzle over.
SUGGESTIONS
So now that we've established that you don't need to add cream remember the options are endless if you are looking at a drop or drizzle of something.

Easy Lentil Soup
Ingredients
- LENTIL AND DUMPLINGS RECIPE
- Coconut cream
Instructions
SAME RECIPE AS THIS LENTIL & DUMPLINGS BUT WIHTOUT THE DUMPLINGS IF YOU PREFER
- Remove the dumpling from the recipe (is you've made them) and add the lentil stew into a blender. Blend till smooth into a puree or use a hand blender to blend slightly if you want some of the veggies to maintain their shape.
- Pour the pureed soup into a sauce pan. Bring to medium heat, add coconut cream and enjoy!
- Serve with a drizzle of cream and dumpling in the middle!
