Whether you serve it with crostini, crackers or fruit you've got yourself a wonderful appetizer with this baked brie cheese. It not only looks seriously inviting and appetizing it's also super simple and a great crowd or quiet setting pleaser.
An easy bake
This baked brie doesn't need to be baked in the oven it can be put in the microwave for a minute or two, no one will tell the difference! You are still going to end up with melted brie cheese that's irresistible!
Recipe Ingredients
Brie cheese -You can any brie cheese but the larger better quality cheese will not only taste better but you get a wider brie surface to work with so not everything is crowded.
Nuts - Pistachios, wall nuts and pecans. You can use just one or mix it up!
Honey, Maple Syrup or a little of both -
Cinnamon
How To Make Baked Brie
This is a very easy recipe. First you melt the cheese by either baking it in the oven or getting it into the microwave, then you top it up with the goodies!

- Get it into the oven either in a dish with low sides or on any oven safe dish with baking paper underneath the cheese so that you can use the baking paper to lift it out from the dish. If you use a an oven safe tray without the baking paper make sure you will be able to scoop the melted cheese without burning on the sides of the dish.
It needs 20 minutes to bake but every oven is different so keep a watch over it two reasons;
- You want it baked till it's soft or it's not going to give you any melt and what's the point of baked brie with no melted falling over cheese?
- Don't over-bake it! Yes I know you can hardly believe that's a thing but I know because I did. You put in the oven and clean forget, mindlessly yes but still, forgotten brie!
What happens to forgotten brie in the oven? It gives you more melted cheese than you hoped for! So a shapeless brie cheese.

Baked Brie With Syrup and Nuts
Ingredients
- 250 grams brie cheese
- 2 Tbsps. honey or maple syrup
- ½ nuts pecans and walnuts
- pinch of cinnamon
- 3 Tbsps. strawberry/blueberry jam or compote
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- fruit(grapes fresh
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Place the unwrapped brie on an oven dish with baking paper underneath for easy removal.
- Bake for 20minutes or until the center is very soft when you lightly press it. You can also microwave it on high for 2 to 3 minutes. Again check by pressing in the center to see if it's soft enough. My personal favorite is baking it in the oven.
- While the brie is baking heat a pan and toast the nuts until they're slightly brown. You will be able to smell the aroma when they are ready.
- Add one tablespoon of honey, cinnamon and 1 tablespoon of jam/berry compote to the pan with the nuts and stir to coat.
- Transfer to a serving platter and pour the honey nut mixture over the brie.
- Add fruit to Serve with fresh fruit on the sides of the platter, crackers, grissini (Italian breadsticks) or crostini.
- Alternatively: You can cut into the top of the brie add the honey nut mixture and either bake in the oven on 180 degrees (as above) or Microwave in a microwave dish for about 3 to 4 minutes or until soft.
