Must love the air fryer for quick and easy meals! These air fryer lamb chops are prepared in a basic olive oil, spices and garlic marinade. It works because it requires no time to marinade with the option of marinating for an hour if necessary.

This recipe is quick, easy, uses minimal ingredients and takes just a few minutes in the air fryer. The lamb chops are packed with flavor, juicy and tender and using olive oil on these chops in the air fryer makes them even more succulent.

Ingredients
A few simple ingredients to marinade the meat.
Lamb chops: If you are using a thicker cut of lamb, check to see if you don't need perhaps another minute or two of cooking time.
Seasoning: Salt and ground black pepper
Olive oil: Helps them meat from drying out in the air fryer.
Garlic: Fresh garlic is best.
How To Make Air Fryer Lamb Chops
Step 1 - Remove the lamb chops from the fridge at least 20 minutes before cooking. Remove any moisture by using a kitchen towel to pat them dry.
Step 2 - Place the chops into a Ziplock bag and season well with salt, pepper, olive oil, crushed garlic and lamb dry rub . Seal the bag and coat with you finger pressing over the bag making sure all the chops are well coated. At this point, you can leave it in the fridge to marinade for an hour if you have time. Gently pull the thyme sprigs off and mix into the marinade.
Step 3 - Preheat the air fryer to 200℃/400F so the air fryer basket is nice and hot.
Step 4 - Add the lamb chops the basket in a single layer and not over-lapping.

Step 5 - Cook the lamb chops for 10 minutes.
How long do you cook lamb chops in the air fryer?
You can use the chart below as a guide but my suggestion to you would be to invest in a kitchen thermemeter. Most of them come with the internal meat temperatures written on the thermometer.
Rare: 120°F (49°C)
Medium-rare: 130°F (54°C)
Medium-well (recommended): 145°F (63°C)
Well-done: Over 145°F (63°C)
Tips and Variations
Try and fit the lamb chops in a single layer so that they can cook evenly. I find that if my air fryer is full, I place the lamb chops upright with the fat side up.
Store the lamb chops in an airtight container once cooled if you want to store them. Reheat in the air fryer or the oven till heated through.
Methods to Cook Lamb Chops
I'm obviously very excited about the air fryer but there are many traditional ways we've been cooking lamb chops.
- In the oven - 190/375F for 25 minutes or until to your liking.
- On the stove top, pan frying which gives a great sear and also loads juices!
- On the grill outside, on the grill inside
- On a fire outside in a pan. I think you get the gist of this 🙂

Air Fryer Lamb Chops
Ingredients
- 4 lamb chops
- 2 Tbsps. olive oil
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced minced
- salt and pepper to taste
- fresh thyme
- 1 Tbsp. lamb dry rub spice Smell and Taste
Instructions
- Dry the lamb chops with kitchen tissue paper to dry off any excess moisture.4 lamb chops
- Add the lamb chops, salt & pepper, garlic, and into a Ziploc bag or a container with a lid.2 Tbsps. olive oil, 3 cloves of garlic, minced, salt and pepper, 1 Tbsp. lamb dry rub spice
- Bag: Seal and then use your fingers to gently press all over the outside of the bag, the idea is to get the chops well coated. It might look like they need oil but they don't, this recipe measures accurately for tender chops.Container: Do the above using your hands or a pair of tongs.
- Place a sheet of baking paper into the air fryer basket (easy clean up and gorgeous juices from the meat to collect later).
- Place your lamb chops neatly into the basket, not overlapping and air fry on 200℃/400F for 7 to 9 minutes flipping halfway.
- Remove the lamb chops from the air fryer basket and place onto a serving dish. Let them rest for 5 minutes before cutting in. Serve with the remaining meat juices in the basket and fresh thyme.fresh thyme
Notes
- The recommended temperature for lamb is 63°C /145°F for medium-well done.
- Season well for flavor and if you have time, you can leave the lamb chops in the marinde, refrigerated for 30 minutes to an hour.
- This marinade has no acidity like lemon or vinegar, so the marinading time doesnt have to be long - 30 minutes to an hour or two is good.
- The spices add lots of flavor so use your favorites.
