Pumpkin Feta Dip
The first thing that comes to mind when you think about fall is pumpkin! Fall and winter are all about trying every single pumpkin-flavored food and DIY recipe. So here is a fall twist on a delicious side- whipped feta dip but pumpkin flavored!
Why You Will Love This Whipped Pumpkin Feta Dip
First things first, you cannot mess this up even if you try your best! This pumpkin feta dip is not only easy to make but it's also super nutritious. Pumpkins can be available throughout the year making it easily accessible but if not, you can always use premade pumkin puree.
Pumpkin recipes are not popular everywhere in the word as they are in America. Buying pumpkins is probably easier than finding pumpkin puree for most. If you cannot find the puree be sure to roast the pumpkin, it adds incredible flavor to this dip.
Considering there are just 5 ingredients that are all tangy besides the honey which adds a touch of sweetness, the roasted pumpkin adds just the right amount of balance.
What You Need To Make This Pumpkin Recipe
- Food Processor or Blender: I use both the food processor and blender, different textures and both delicious!
- Silicon Spatula: A great help for transferring it from the appliance to the serving bowl.
- Serving bowl: Your preferred serving bowl.
Tip! Don't forget the cover with clingfilm and leave it in the fridge to set once you've made this delicious pumpkin whipped feta dip!
Ingredients
Feta Cheese: Don't use any pre-crumbled feta cheese. Ive used the block feta because it's creamier but if you can't find it, use the tub feta just dry the blocks off properly.
Greek Yogurt: Or any plain thick and creamy yogurt.
Pumpkin: You can use canned pumpkin puree. I used roasted pumpkin for this recipe, and you don't need to start cleaning a fresh pumpkin. You can buy already cleaned pumpkin to roast.
Honey: For a little sweetness. I would suggest make the dip and before transferring it to a bowl, taste it. You can decide on the level of sweetness if any. Personally, we don't like it very sweet.
Olive oil: I find that a little drizzle goes a long way for richness, more a teaspoon of good extra virgin olive oil.
Garnish: Olive oil, sea salt and roasted pumpkin seeds.
How To Make Pumpkin Feta Dip
Well, do we really need any instructions?
All you need to do is put everything into your food processor or blender and blend blend blend!
You might need to blend for a couple of minutes for the feta to blend into a smooth creamy texture completely.
And just like that, your pumpkin whipped feta dip is ready to serve!
Pro Tip:
- For a soft and creamy dip, make sure you use the block feta cheese and not the feta crumbles.
- If you wish to make your dip EXTRA, bake some garlic cloves dipped in olive oil and substitute garlic powder with it. The garlic-ey kick will make your dip extra flavourful.

FAQ About Pumpkin Whipped Feta Dip
How long can you store pumpkin whipped feta dip?
This dip can be stored in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for about a week. If you need to freeze it, wrap tightly and when you need to use it again, allow the dip to thaw first.
Why is my feta dip runny?
If you find yourself with a runny dip, simply add more feta cheese or more roasted pumpkin, always add a tablespoon at a time. The consistency changes with every additon so you want to be cautious. Also don't forget to adjust the seasoning if necessary. When it comes to dips, it's best to add less salt especially in a feta dip, you can always add later. The longer the dip sits, the more the flavors meld.
My dip is too thick! How can I fix it?
I know that your first reaction might be add olive oil, yet, I find that a little at a time of ice water, is the most sensible way to thin it out. Extra virgin olive oil is good for garnish at the end and to add a rich, smooth texture.
Can I use a blender or a food processor for my dip?
You can use either or, the consistency of your dip will be different, that's all, but it will still be delicious. A food processor gives you a more textured, rugged look and a high powered blender gives a smooth and fluffy dip. A regular blender will also give you a more smooth effect.
